Soccer World Cup QF

And so we are at the business end of the world cup.....

Who is gonna win......

Germany Vs Argentina
This is probably going to be the biggest match of the world cup so far..
My 2 fav teams of all time, with Argentina being one of 3 fav in this world cup,
and they lock horns to decide the Semifinalist amongst them...

Too bad..

But Germany has shown remarkable improvement going to each match, a sea change from the pre tournament 'NO hope' tag..

I want Argentina to go thro, but I have a sinking feeling that Germany might make it thro'.

Eng Vs Portugal
The other 2 that complete the 3 fav teams for me for this world cup.
Another heartbreaker, cause only one of them will go thro..
I cannot bear one of them losing..but I guess I will let Portugal go thro..:-D

Brazil Vs France
France is not in the best of form...SO its a no brainer...Brazil all the way....
It would take a brave(or maybe foolish) man to bet against a Brazil win..

Italy Vs Ukraine
Ah...the easiest of the lot..Italy is gonna sleep walk and win and this game comfortably...

So the Semis is gonna be
Germany (My heart wants Argentina though........)
Portugal
Brazil
Italy..

Anybody up for bets......:-D

Lets have a small game..whoever gets the winner right, will have 2 points for each correct prediction
and 1 negative point for each wrong prediction..

and if you can predict the score line as well..your points will get doubled accordingly..

and the winner gets.............your own all expense paid trip to boston..and then a free ride around the town with my
GPS installed car and a reality show watch of the middle finger strutting bostonians...;-)

Musings......

Whats worse than having nothing much to do @ work and when you are desperately waiting for the long weekend to kick in..

If you ask me, itz listening to a tech conversation @ work between a Russian/Polish and a Chinese..in...hold your breath English......

The russian Stresses on every damn 2nd alphabet that a word has, and the chinese, seems to think every second letter slips into the prev letter and forms a new alphabet and pronunciation that only he can understand..

Yikes...I am not even gonna attempt to try what they said to each other..

Funny part is...while I'm tearing my hair out those 2 seem to be at ease understanding the other..

Boy...I dread the day, when I have to be in a meeting with these 2.......:-)

A lil bit of dipping into my prev Cihnese encounters..revealed as much........:-)

Learn Chinese

I Sink..

PS: Does it sound like, I'm doing some self promotion here...naah..never mind;-)

Mr.Chappell Call me

Mr.Chappell ur contact no.s please..

And so between Soccer, basketball and F1, not to mention the 'love' affair...I still managed to be in touch with the cricket action.

A few things worth noticing..well not for me...But for Dravid and Greg Chappell if they DO blog hopping..that is..

You might want to heed the advice, considering how my prev cricket posts were bang on...and eventually, u 2 did do something similar..(he he..)..here goes the next piece of vignette..

The ODI series has to be viewed as just one of those things..

the good thing was the closeness of the series, the emergence of the WI( atleast on home turf) and the need to get some really quick bowlers...and ofcourse for Pathan to bend his butt over..and get some speed in..

So back to our test match attack...Munaf seems to be the find...and I was thinking as much after his Ranji exploits in tandem with Zaheer..
Unfortunately..zaheer fizzled out after they brought him in, on the basis of his showing..

But I guess, Munaf is more of a partnership breaker rather than the main seamer...and so he would do well in the presence of an incisive left arm seamer..

Currently Pathan doesnt have the pace on these kind of wickets, to be incisive..

The next stop would be Zaheer and nehra, considering both are returning back to competitive cricket..

and ofcourse Balaji who has the knack of bowling the outswingers and leg cutters which should compliment the likes of Munaf and the left armers, pretty well...

Of course, if Zaheer still shows that he hasnt learned and doesnt produce pace, time to put more faith in RP singh and get him to partner Munaf...

Zaheer had all those wicket taking stuff, in Ranji trophy last year, courtesy munaf..and now in COunty cricket partnering Kabir Ali..and those two are similar bowlers that make batsmen play every delivery...

As for Sreesanth and VRV Singh..they will have to find partners they can bowl well in Tandem...Wouldnt hurt to go back to ranji and find one from their respective zones...I am not happy with both their actions..not that it is slimy, but just that they are not utilizing their height at the point of delivery both of them seem to be croching a bit at delivery stride, VRV with his legs, and Sreesanth with his shortish arm action..

So the thinktank...can you listen....

If you still aint convinced, please look at my earlier posts and decide...:-D

Never lost Navgiation...yaa Rite....!!

Oh boy somebody got tired of the geese and the yada yada...and the same old post.:-)

so here goes...

Boston...one place Ive wanted to work ever since I started thinking of getting into the job market..
and so I finally drove into boston, towards the end of may...cursing the zillion toll booths on the way...

Can you believe it...a 16 hr drive from Chicago to Boston, and my co passenger on the drive swore that she will never ever cross thro Ohio or Virginia or NY by car...

lolz her very first long trip and so goes the feelings...

well I wud probably agree with her...esp with Ohio..

All they have is crap for roads...and they charge $4 for every toll crossings....

but then letz not go there..yet

I'll have to start with my title for that..

Yup..wat exactly is GPS...with that captive ad....Never LOST...

oh boy wat a misnomer..

what with you do with a GPS whose most preferred dialogue to me is

LOST SATELLITE COMMUNICATION

u r zipping at 80+ miles at the freeway and about to take an exit..when it goes..Lost satellite navigation..

or sample this..I miss an exit and then it recalculates..

Left drive another 2 miles, turn left....stay on the left...and then when u turn that final left.turn...

Recalculating..
and then u go follow the new route...by which time it gets tired of turning left and now wants u to turn right...

and then..when u finally think u r back on track...comes the ace that its been hiding its sleeve...
LOST SATELLITE COMMUNICATION..
well well, Ive to say, Ive been having fun with the GPS,,,,pissing off already agressive boston drivers..

maaan, never ever have I seen, ppl so fond of their middle fingers, that they show it proudly to the person in the next car...
u stand for an extra split second at the green light, and out comes the honking from the car behind u...
and with my propensity...to drive my car slowly wantedly, when somebody does that...Ive had my more than fair share of middle fingers...to the extent that Im now thinking of patenting a device that is prosthetic version of the the right
arm and the middle finger specifically that ppl can affix to their steering wheel..in such a way that the other car drivers can see...

yikes...more to follow on the GPS atrocities that drove me nuts and the other boston escapades..

:-)

PS..oh madsies..am I right about Boston;)
