Goodbye Ganguly...

And so...'Ganguly has been read out his Final rites..or does it seem otherwise.?

His removal from the ODI team was warranted..and timely..

Not sure if that was the case with his Test team..

They did not give him an un interrupted run..first and he was included for the wrong reasons.

Again, on Form and for the controversy generated, he shd not have been there in the first place for the team to Pak..He was..

and popular thoughts would have been to continue with him now that Yuvi is Injured.

But then..the selectors decided to correct an earlier mistake..and removed him..

Well well...who suffered,..Nobody more than Kaif, and that batsman now has to proove
himself all over again...which is by no means easy, now that he has a mini form slump as well.

But coming back to Ganguly. It is always a good strategy to remove 'Top' echelons first whenever something wrong happens and changes need to be made. After all its the leaders that have been given all the powers to get things on track. It is there mistake if they to not use their power to set things right.

The ODI team was getting stale of ideas and strategies., and with nothing productive
in terms of result., something had to give in. With a New Coach, the only option had to be the decision maker on the field., which was Ganguly..

Fair to the team, they have implmented new ideas in the ODI format and have become more
successful..

and so that decision was prooved correct.

Back to the test match format., Ganguly did acquit himself well in the 2 inings against Pak. But then with his exp he should have thrown a better rear guard challenge than the one he came up with.

He has himself to blame, and I guess he knew that himself., when he said 'I could have done better' on return frm Pak.

The only pity being the way he was booted out.
For somebody who restored Indias pride with his no nonsense approach to captaincy, and the pleasure he gave to viewers, with his batting., this is the limpest way to get out of reckoning and from the public View.

Wish we could dedicate one of the ODI's in the current game against Eng to him..for all that he has done to Team India..

Ganguly...Keep your head High..
Most of the current performers in the Current team owe it to you., for what they are and where they are now., and that is more than half the teams list., plus the biggest asset "a Can Do Attitude'which I would say, even sachin Tendulkar came short with when compared with Ganguly.

You Should be proud of them... and we all are of you...

Now go..introduce some Nice dishes in your Bengali Restaurant..

I'll be there sometime, in the next few months, to sample some of them.:P
For an earlier cricketing post..
Here you go
waaah....and How right I've been prooved...
Some of the points I have there., Chappell and the selection team can think of only, now..
I should be made..a Resident Consultant with Team India...grrrrrrrrr

From the Desk of Mr Samuel Martins
Account and Audit Department
BANK OF AFRICA(BOA)
Ouagadougou,
Burkina Faso.

Dear Friend,

I am Mr Samuel Martins,Manager Account and Audit Department Bank of Africa (BOA) Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso;As I resumed duty, I discovered an account with total sum of $10,000,000.00 million that has not been operated on.

From my investigation, I found out that this account belongs to one Late Mr. Morris Thompson an American great industrialist and a resident of Alaska, who unfortunately lost his life in the plane crash of Alaska Airlines Flight 261 which crashed on January 31st 2000, including his wife and only daughter.

On further investigation, I found out that he died without making a WILL,and all attempts to trace his next of kin was fruitless. I therefore made further investigation and discovered that Mr. Morris Thompson did not declare any kin or relations in all his official documents, including his Bank Deposit paperwork in my Bank. This sum of US$10,000,000.00 is still sitting in my Bank and the interest is being rolled over with the principal sum at the end of each year. No one has ever come forward to claim it.

According to Burkina Faso Law, at the expiration of 6(six) years, the money will revert to the ownership of the Burkina Government if nobody applies to claim the fund. Consequently, my proposal is that I will like you to stand in as the next of kin to Mr. Morris Thompson so that the fruits of this man's labour will not get into the hands of some corrupt government officials.

The request of a foreigner as next of kin in this business is occasioned by the fact that the customer was a foreigner and a Burkinabe can not stand as next of kin to him.l have agreed, that after the smooth conclusion of the transaction, that l will make it 60-40 for you considering you as a foreign partner,in respect to the provision of a foreign account,There after l will visit your country for disbursement according to the percentage agreed.

Therefore to enable the immediate transfer of this fund to you account as arranged, you will apply first to the bank as relations or next of kin of the deceased, indicating your full name, your private telephone and fax numbers for easy and effective communication and the location where in the money will be remitted.Upon the receipt of your reply, l will send to you by EMAIL OR FAX the text of the application.

Be you informed that this transaction is hitch free both now and in the future you should not entertain any fear whatsoever,as all required arrangements have been perfected for the transfer.Call me for more details on my private number 00226.76.57.88.47 Trusting to hear from you immediately.
Yours faithfully
Mr Samuel Martins
Audit and Account, manager
(BOA).

My dear val day...

PS: Title inspired from: My dear marthandan..

The flowers were lined up at the office entrance.
Ours being a big one, every building had an alphabet attached to it., and
near my entrance, marked P..there were a bunch of flower baskets..with somebodys name on it.

First glance, I just brushed past it..after all I dint think I wud have impressed anyone within the first 2 weeks of my joining here..

But then seeing the oohs and aahs..I was tempted to go look.

And there...was one with my name on it..

I cudnt believe it..was like wow...and in spiderman style..some lucky girl fell into my trap..:-D(oh come on, I shd be given to hyperboles once in a while..aint it )

I took it to my desk..and everyone on the way were givin me jealous glances and I was feeling kinda dizzy..( I mean, on top of the world)....;-)

I just cudnt work for the next 2o mins or so..cause I was busy figuring out who sent it..

I was trying to recollect all the girls that Ive been trying to patofy for the past 2 weeks..,and I thought I had zeroed in on the name...,WHEN..

a heavy hand landed thud on my shoulders..
"Giiiii...day dreaming kya...what are you doing looking clutching at the box of wipes..
Is that what you got for Valentines' day"........

It was my team lead checking on me if I had started work for the day...

And then I woke up...:-D

waah...Jeenu, Priya and Vi and the rest....and u all thought only u can write stories eh... :P

Saranya K..now that shud satisfy your asking for a 'not so serious' post , aint it :)

The many faces of India

Rhythm In Her Veins, Step Lightly
'God is one. When I pay obeisance through mudras, I'm imploring not just the Hindu Bhagvan but the supreme creator. It just happens that we call him by different names.' So says a young Muslim girl who excels in Bharatanatyam. Only to face mahallu's wrath

Interesting(Maybe, that is not the right choice of word, possibly ' Disstressing is a better choice)...to see such mindless objections being raised...that too to a dance form cause tha its considered belonging to a diff relegion...

That raises another interesting question...How come there is no art form that is supposedly considered as representing Islam??

Or is there any? but then, I wouldnt knw...
