I have always thought, how lucky girls are to be pursued and wooed by romeos all day all year.
"what's the fuss all about" I used to ask my friends, "Cmon, that guy likes you, and wants to make an impression on you. You should be happy for the attention you are getting."
How wrong I was. The truth is you never know until you put yourself in that position.
.
"Gi., put yourself in my shoes and see how difficult it is for me to figure out that you did this on your own" my proffessor
asked me once, amongst other things, when he found out that our assignments looked similar :-)
I managed to wriggle out of that situation, but I never thought much about what he had said.
Atleast not until now. Man this bus journey to my work is so eventful.
All the different bus timings that I had talked about earlier(The one titled - "I love you too").,in my previous blogs, has a relation to this.
There is this African American who gets into the bus, the 7:25 one to be precise.
She boards it at the half way point, and that is when I pretend to be asleep till I reach the terminal :-)
she wont let me sleep though, for more than 10 min. The first curve or the turn the bus makes, the moment I move in that sleeping position, she wud slap me and say move over, let me sit next to u.
Most of the times, I would sit on the outer of the two seats so that she just wont be able to sit there.
In the beginning, I used to take the window seat, and she would like...half sit on my lap..when she boards at her stop.
Now dont get me wrong, she is cute and I really 'like' her..
Some times Im scared from the way she looks at me, that she is gonna hold my face and kiss me hard.
She's asked me a few times already about what I do for the weekend, the night clubs around and stuff.
The heights' was the time she got this magazine, which had a nude pic and some story abt breast augumentation and stuff and she kept pointing me to that word Nude written it bold and what I thought abt transplants and stuff :-)
I still cant believe the reaction I gave for that, Never have I had to sit still and not get enthused abt seeing a nude female pose.
Gosh life is tough, believe me :-)
I have had to invent a fake gf too, somebody that lives in Canada, supposedly :)
maan, I hope she doesnt ask abt it again, cause I've already forgotten her name, wherever she stay in Canada and watever she does. :-)
hope shez forgotten abt it too..
The trouble is, she remembers my Bday as well as , my cell fone no. and what my imaginary sister does in Ca :-)
For somebody who finds it tough to remember names and numbers, you can empathize with me esp, when I have to remember all these fake characters and names.
She has asked me abt her after that, but thankfully not the details.
I can surely understand now, how all those poor girls must feel, when being hounded by all romeos, 'Just friends please...., atleast'...as we would call it :-)
But have to say this, man she is GORGEOUS, and I do like all these females with the curly hair, and she is one African American with not sooo big lips..and I dont have to tell you people abt that ass of theirs'..
and she is good company for lunch. Very talkative though, but lively enough.
Have to tell u ppl, this
Last week for a couple of days, I had been catching this 740 bus instead of the 7:15 one.
and she found out and voila on the third day she was waiting for the 7:40 one.
Whats more scary is the thought that she can figure out what bus im gonna take, cause this week, ive been juggling my bus timings and shez been there perfecto :)
Not that I'm complaining, just that I would love to be the one bugging ppl and not the other way round. :-)

Excuse me please.. part 2- last.
sorry about the delay ppl
Dint' intend it that way..
back to where we were,
Vandana, thats what her name was, did a nice job of completing, with the jigina stuff and all :)
)
But by then I cud see myself getting outgunned and out thought by the experienced guys in the ' business'
She was in her second year in college and I was a freshman, if u go by the local (I meant the US of A:D) lingo.
All these buggers had decided on a movie one evening..guess it was 1942 A ...
(Okee ppl now dont back track and guess my age..)
And cunningly enough I was kept in the dark.
4 of the other guys after the end of class that day, was how they had planned. Dunno how they expected to not let me know
or kick me out of it.
When the class finished and I was abt to take leave, she was asking me how long it would take me to be there,
and I had no idea of what she was talking abt, and these guys were collecting money frm each other so that one of them could
go in advance and buy the tickets and seeing that they dint get it from me, she got suspicious.
I was shocked when I found out and they were wriggling uncomfy.
Like an idiot, I decided to be on their side and said, "no I cant make it. I have some other work to do."
"I dont wanna go either "said she. I could see the other guys turning red and thinking of plans to break my head
..then I said, " I am out of my pocket money for the month. Some other time maybe. Go ahead and have fun"
Man how stupid of me.
" Dont worry about that. All you have to do is give us company. Now be a nice boy and dont create a scene. I dont want to get a $#@%^& seat." said she.
poor guys. Not only had they to invite me but pay for my ticket as well along with hers.
So off we went and I didnt even look these guys up in the eye. After all they were my seniors in college and I did not want to get ragged.
Rofl. I can never forget this movie.
I dint want to sit next to her, cause I knew these guys will beat the shit out of me at college the next day.
So I waited for all of them to get seated, there were 5 guys and her in all.
It so happened she sat second from one of the corners and there was this 3rd seat vacant.
None of them probably had the guts to sit right next to her.
" what are you looking for. come and sit here. All the girls in the theatre are with someone or the other. Better sit here before I change my mind" said she.
Cursing but happy, I went and sat there, all the time avoiding to look at the others.
The movie was the beginning of the end of my time with her :(
The movie was really engrossing and it was that Kuch na kaho song going on.
Guess thats the song where manisha is on the balcony and this guy 'Karadi kutti'(hairy bear man) Anil kapoor
climbs on some rope or watever and lands on that balcony.
I got really wide eyed with that particular scene esp seeing manisha's voluptous Breast' and inadvertently held her hand and squeezed it.
She was shocked for a sec. and then said" I cant see much from here. the guy before is blocking me" and shifted places with the guy on the other side.
I dint know what to say or how to respond. The interval came up and she seemed normal enough. Dint even pick on what I did.
I dont remember anything more in that movie. All that I was thiking after that was what to say to my parents for getting home so late.
It was a different story that the suburban train system in chennai went kaput that day cause of some power breakdown and there was a 5 hr delay cause of which I reached home after midnight.
But getting back to the story, she started talking more to the other guys. Atleast thats how it seemed to me.
I decided to be cool too and did not talk much.
Then came the big day.
I was on the way to NIIT around 4 when I saw my mom at the entrance.
She was there too waiting for me, thankfully they weren't doing any mini talk.
My mom's work place is pretty close from there and the moment she saw me, she gave me a big hug.
I was like..what happened.
" Congrats. You got you engineering admission seat. You dont have to continue ur BSc anymore. You have just a couple of days to leave"
It was in Chidambaram which meant I wont be able to stay in madras.
I looked at my mom then her and dint know what to say. I was happy in a way but again there was this thing with her.
I introduced her to my mom and she said " Congrats man. Excuse me please. I gotta go do something"
and left that place. I saw her go join the rest of the gang.
and that was it....
My mom left and then I broke the news to the rest of the crowd. There was a big cheer. Everyone gave me a hug including those 4 guys. They were really relieved that I am not going to be a pain.
I was relieved too, that I am gonna escape their ragging.
Gosh man this ragging never leaves me alone. Got a huge whiff of it in my first year an Engg school.
My eyes were searching for her. and she dint know what to say. She looked at me and I didnt know what to make out of her expression.
She said nothing though, when I walked up to her. All she did was give me a hug and said "be good".
"Be nice to people. Dont oggle at the girls there."
and she went off.
I had other things take care of. Slowly the excitement of getting an engg seat was getting into me and NIIT and my BSC were a distant dream.
and she was another distant star..but till this moment still shining brightly..
Hopefully I will run into her again..someday

Excuse me please
" Excuse me please" said the sweet voice.
"Sure. No problem." I turned around to see who that was, only to forget blinking for the whole of next min.
Little did I knw then, that her last statement would be exactly the same as her first..
.
It was the first day of my GNIIT program at their Nungambakkam center and I was busy slapppin and shakin without one
that offered their back or palm :)
Until she barged in.
She was asking around, for the way for the fee counter
There were 2 new classes scheduled that day and I started figuring out how to change myself to the other one, if she
wasnt in mine.
As luck would have it., she was in my batch.
Ther were 2 other girls and if she wasnt there, I wud have turned my attention to them.
Lucky girls, guess they escaped this time:)
Teams were formed on the very first day, and imagine the surprise, when everyone got into groups except me and her
and the instructor batched us into the last gp
waah, somebody up there was looking out for me..atleast thats what I thought.
First mistake..Never thank 'him' sooner that u should. :-)
'He' thinks you are satisfied and moves to answer the prayers of the next guy. But more on that later..
So we did get into one gp..
" So how do we interact. This project needs to be done next week. Is there..."I was broken mid sentence..
" You do what you can, and give it to me. I will take over from there' she trailed off
"Is there a no I can reach you. or can we meet after the class for an hr every day" was what I had proposed to say.
you know how that works. Guys when challenged always RISE up to the occasion;)
I finished the entire assignment, which was actually a paper presentation on a topic, in a couple of days
All she had to do was do the alteration and 'jigina' stuff. If you know what I mean
oopsy..time for the bus...will get it done morrow..:)
Todays pay time is over :D

I love you too
'I love you too'
This was what the driver of the bus that I was riding this morning said, when a car cut across from the left lane to the parking lot on the right.
This journey to my work takes me around a hr each day and all of a sudden without any reason, I started thinking about the bus drivers that I come across each day.
The earliest bus I have taken is the 7:05 AM bus which has an African American female as the driver.
Amongst all of em, hers is the most crowded in the mornings and she is the most punctual of them all.
Very taut and a wizened face, she doesn’t talk much unless somebody else starts the convo first.
I have to be there prompt at the designated time. Blink and she is gone.
Miss the bus and you run into a very colorful character, the next White driver operating the 7:25 bus.
I always used to think why can’t the bus drivers be more helpful and announce before each stop, what the next Stop/ junction is and stuff like that. Imagine my surprise, when this guy did exactly that, the first time I got into this bus. Not only that, he volunteers info about the connection buses at each stop as well. Neat.
Once he gets to see you quite regularly, he would even look to see if you are on the way whenever you are not at the stop.
He has done it a couple of times for me. “Boy. Why cant’ you start running the moment you seem me @ the bus stop” he would exclaim.
I would give him a wry smile and say,” well I wasn’t sure if you were stopping for me or for something else. I dint want to waste my energy you see” and then wink at him.
But this bus doesn’t go all the way to my work and I have to take a connection at an intermediate terminal.
There have been occasions when he has woken me up @ the terminal. “ sorry I cant take you all the way” he would say. :-)
The next bus again is at 7:40 and this is another African American. This is the bus I hate to go. This guy is so slow and he would for no reason stop 2 blocks before if he hears the sound of an approaching 'Goods train 2 miles away. “God don’t let me run into the train today” used to be my regular prayer whenever I board this bus.
Come the 7:55 bus and I am back to the routine of having to change buses at the terminal. This is the most talkative of all bus drivers. So funny a guy, guess he was working for one of the ‘Good morning America’ show with one of the local TV/ Radio channels.
He would talk about anything and everything including the results for the local sports teams. Boy he even talked about the elections and thanked us for voting the day after the election. He refused to tell us who his choice was. :-D
" Welcome to the Metro transport. This is Tueday 8:05 AM a bright sunny morning. You are riding the Red line TO Metro station. Wake up, smell the coffee and Good morning Arizona." was his usual pick up line
:-). and He would expect a return greeting as well.
When I am at my most laziest I would be forced to take the 8:10 bus. Havent travelled much in this bus, except to oggle at this desi girl who takes the bus. She works pretty close to my work place. I would be amazed cause she always dresses like she is going for a fashion show. Even more amazing is the fact that she takes the last possible bus which would take us/her to work around 9:15 and the moment the clock strikes 5:00 she’s out of work.
I am only guessing here though, because that’s the only bus I havent taken on the return trip., and I havent seen her on any other
But that’s another story, the return bus timings and the journey :P
I should mention here about this particular bus driver. An elderly but cheerful guy of around 60, the route that he operates takes me to the local mall. It was the day before thanksgiving I guess, and as is usual was having a chat with him. “ So do you get paid more for working on thanksgiving eve especially at nights” I asked him.
The conversation drifted on and he started talking about his Kid and his SIL. “ She is a doctor, you know. So is my SIL. They are coming here for thanksgiving. Hope to spend time with them”
If you are surprised by it, wait till you hear more.
“ Wow that nice. That must have been expensive. How did you manage to bring her up”
“Well I used to work at American Airlines u know. Then I worked for the US Air force. I have flown everything from the fighter planes to the latest fly by wire stuff including the transport planes like AN50 “ (or whatever)
Seeing my jaw drop a bit, he continued “ It is a bit weird yeah, driving this bus. But I wanted to do something. Not stay at home.”
“ I did my BE in Aeronautical Engineering from the Air force Academy and later did my MBA in Systems from Purdue.”
“Was director of the flight school after I retired from the Airforce. Then got tired, wanted to pilot a commercial plane and that is how I joined AA.”
All this time, I was listening with rapt attention.
Then as it so happens, and he started talking about outsourcing and how even Boeing is moving operations to China and elsewhere. “Don’t get me wrong. I am not against India or China or the wonderful people from there. But these people should worry about the local talent. Can you imagine my neighbor who was with Intel was told to either go to India or quit his job.”
“ He was given a pleasant shock by his employers who said he can extend his stay at Intel by another 6 months cause he has to train those people from China that are going to replace him,” he continued.
“He is now working in a machine shop to make ends meet and pay off his mortgage. Poor chap”
I looked outside and realized it was time to get down now that I was close to my destination. I bid adieu and wished him a good time and got down. I never thought about him until now.

Thought it was better to have a copy of my Stuff here as well.
With Sulekha being so predictably unstable..this move was defn warranted..:-)
Hope this site is far better...

Welcome the latest entrant to the world of blogs guys and gals:)
" and I thought I would never get across to doing this" as all those first timers say :)
Was tossing and turning in my bed and all off a sudden had a wave of thoughts right from my school days
If only we could record our thoughts and store it some where and get those feelings again and then realised writing them down would probably be the closest I can get..
.
oh U all bloggers..now I knw y u blog so much :P
My first crush...gulp Std 3..
rajani..haha no not thalaivar
I hardly new anything more abt him then than to cry and protest loudly when my mom said
"time for haircut" (tht flowing hair style of his) or when she had to bear the brunt of
my rajni style kicks. Obviously she dint want to hear anything of that. Who else will feel like going to a PTA meeting at school every sat rather than enjoy those weekends after a tiring week.
Anyway coming back to my crush 1, u wud have obviously guessed it.
My mom liked her..and that sort of clinged on to me.
Whenever my mom had an off day she would want to come to school during lunch time..as I would cry that mine was the only mom that never took interest and came to see me during lunch time:). She would make it a point to talk to her and have her sit next to me..:P
ah tht reminds me have to ask mom to send tht std 3 fotobook over here :)
Next goes ramya..she had those big round eyes..always a scoring point with me :)
and that she was close enough to rajni seemed more than enough..
Come std VI she had moved to other sections and I had a northie Radz' for a change this time as my crush..She had been under my radar since class V when she was a constant pain for me..my dad used to constantly harass me as to why she alwayz was at the top of class and
not me..( okee guys..cmon..trust me I was good enough to be in the top2) and man did I cry so much when her dad got transferred in the middle of class VI and had to pack up.
That was the time when my school was strict abt talkin in english..and there was a 25P fine whenever somebody erred. She had so much pleasure in catchin me whenever I used to say 'come here
di or go DA..lolz
and this was the year when my crushes started getting..bigger and out of control hmm u guessed it right..as alwayz my english teacher and my social science teacher..
Wait till Std8 to develop a crush towards my bio teacher:)
Then came the triumvariate Prabz, gaya3 and Skala..
This was the group tht had the lasting impression on me..
hear one of them is a doctor, one got a crush with a fellow engineer( grr) and married him
and the third doing PhDs over PhD's :)
This was when I realised crushes happens both ways too:) and had fun......and my biology teacher came into the picture too..naturally u wud have guessed it right My class grades went for a spin:)
these 3 had a queer way of showin their affection for me..and would get me in all sorts of trouble..
esp during the CBSE'z std X public exam yr ther used to be quizzes in class...a method thought of by one of the brainiac teachers in
school to prepare us for exams..
each student gets a chance to ask one particular student and the class gets split into 3 teams
and u can have any student as ur bakra..
and almost all the questions frm their benches wud be targetted towards me:|
wat show of affection is that... oh man.....
Around this time came another girl who is now ruling roost as voice over artist for all the northie heroines..she was in the news recently too rumored for havin an affair with
Dir bharathirajas son..Not much with her...but helpin her copy frm me in an exam singnalled the end of my 2 way crush with prabz :( and she never forgave me for tht..
classes XI and XII never even remind me..
do u ever knw of an idiot who studies in an coed all along only to leave that at the most inappropriate time for a boyz only school..
and that dame luck has continued till now BS or MS not a single girl in my class:|
argh tht silly Mechanical engg..and the even more stupid production engineering for MS.
thts a dampener..ive lost interest now...sigh
akin to what ppl of my zodiac sign proudly say..
" itz a trait of geminis you know..they never can keep at one thing"
though in my case I am a borderline case for both gemini and cancer and I keep switching sides as and when I feel the need to explain my behavior at that point of time:) (ahem..thts a clue guys..wish me on my bday)
college stories may be when I get into dream land again:)
and sulekha crushes...haha all the dahlinks' will get pissed off..no way:)
